Hello everyone, I am pretty sure my subject of my emails will be that every single week because man, Taiwan is amazing. As you can all expect, it was another great week, as are all weeks here in Taiwan.
So I wanna talk about I think three cool things that happened this week. Maybe four, we'll see by the time I finish the email.
The first is a super cool experience! So I don't remember what day it was, but we in general are having a hard time finding people. So we decided to up our efforts of talking to everyone. Literally everyone. If you are in Taiwan, you better watch out for us because we promise we will talk to you. But this one night, we were having a great conversation with this one guy, really awesome conversation, super awesome, this guy was totally feeling the Spirit and everything, he was literally in the process of giving us his line, then his dad like calls for him and he doesn't say anything and just leaves. We were super frustrated. So at that moment it was like 9:10 (we have to be in at 9:30) and we just wanted to set up with one person. So we went and said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to help us to find one person. We go around talking to people, trying, trying, trying to set someone up, then finally we are walking with this two older ladies and talking with them. We are just walking with them and then out of the blue one of them turns to us and starts asking questions about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Turns out she was basically a modern day Joseph Smith. It was absolutely insane and an answer to our prayers. We were both super pumped and definitely went and thanked Heavenly Father for helping us out.
The other experience. English Class! Ah man English class is fun. So I teach the advanced class because my Chinese is much worse than Elder Bateman's, and it went really awesome. There are these five people that come every week, well I guess only four because one of the people in this group lives in Egypt now. Anyways! These five people have a group called, "Gorgeous and Seven," and they are all super awesome. Honestly, they come to more of the ward activities than most of the ward and most of them are not even members. So in this group there are four girls, Yuna, Pearl, Joyce, and Cher and there is one guy named Kevin. It is a super fun group and they are all super awesome. Anyways, with English class, we teach a lesson and then spend the last half hour doing a spiritual share. Our motto is that we are not English teachers we are English finders. But I taught about vaccines (cuz it is flu season and you all know about my run in with the flu shot) and then related it to becoming immune from the world in the spiritual share. It was super awesome and I am super excited to continue teaching English.
Finally, exchanges! This week we went on exchanges with the zone leaders. I went with Elder Swenson who grew up in Utah and went to Bingham then went to the Navy for a year. It was super awesome and I learned a ton from him. He is such an awesome guy.
Anyways, that's all for the week! If you have any questions, shoot me a quick email! Love and miss you all!
