Elder Gerritt Vander Linden III

Hello everyone, sorry this came so late. I'm sure you were all dying to hear from me. Like could hardly get through class. I know how you guys all work. Anyways, this week was just like any other week in the MTC. We go to class, eat, and study chinese. One thing that was cool was that elder Christofferson came. He talked about the importance of not using Mormon and LDS and how the church is changing all their things to fall in line with that. It's kind of cool and it shows how important it is if he came to the MTC just to say that. That was kind of cool. Im ready to get out of here. Hopefully I can get my visa. That's really all though, nothing new happens in the MTC. We get new people on wednesday so that will be cool. But yeah, see ya guys next week!

This week wasn't that exciting. I didn't get injured so that is a bonus but I have to keep going to rehab. i think that I am almost done with it though. I am crossing my fingers. The rehab people are really nice I just would rather be killing it on the sand volleyball court obviously. We invited one of the people we are teaching to baptism and he accepted so that was awesome, Chinese lessons are starting to get a lot easier. Also in sacrament meeting I could understand pretty much all of the talk and know what was going on. So that was also awesome. But other than that, nothing really exciting happened. Yesterday we had this awesome devotional though. I don't know if you could really call it a devotional but it was about how the gospel is being furthered through technology. I'm gonna combine my spiritual thought and weekly thought into one.  So  Thursday  I believe, I was playing basketball for the first time since I hurt my toe. Here's the thing though, I didn't want to play basketball because I just enjoy volleyball more (not like in real life but this is MTC competitive level so volleyball is more enjoyable) But a guy in my zone really wanted me to come play basketball. So I promised him to come play after days of putting it off. Anyways, we win the first game (beat his team) and then at the start of the second game, I go up to block a shot and land on someone's foot. Bam, sprained. Hello everyone!  This week has been super hard actually, but it's okay. Chinese is hard and me and my companion are having a tough time teaching because he hasn't had any background, it will start to come though I am sure for both of us. One cool thing is that a kid I knew from middle school named Dax Lowe is coming into my zone this week, I don't know who is actually reading these emails so I don't know who knows him but it is really cool.  Anyways, here is my story from this week. So I think it was Wednesday, but we were coming back from exercise time and I was trying to race this one elder back to the dorms (I wanted to get on with my day and serve the lord obviously). Anyways I try to jump over a bench and this cement thing, a jump I could easily make, however, the grass was wet. When I went to make the jump, my foot slipped in the grass and slid about a foot and a half at least (you could see the mark in the grass) and went straight into the curb. I sort of...
